For a few years now I have had a photo in mind that I have wanted to take. I have always wanted to try and get a photo that would epitomise what the British countryside is. For me it’s those rolling hills and lush green grass, with stormy skies and fabulous golden light.

This Spring I was determined to try and get that shot. After spending a couple of months trying to find the perfect location. I came across some hills near Llangorse Lake in the Brecon Beacons. After hiking to the top I then spent the next two hours hiding behind a rock, as the most biblical of storms passed over me. After almost deciding to go home, the rain stopped and for about five minutes I had the most amazing golden light shining through the skies. It just lit the fields in front of me perfectly and I was finally able to capture a shot I had been chasing for years.
